Reception Halls Are A Doozy!

Well, this morning before church I read through the wedding packet from the church which discusses everything that the church requires for weddings. After reading it I realized that our reception plan probably won't work out. So, after church I searched for some reception places some more and called a bunch of places to find out pricing and availability. Turns out it is very difficult to get all weddings things within a $7,000 budget which means so far I have not found one that fits in our budget (little side note, Silver Spring Country Club for around 300 people is over $9,000!). BUT there are six places which I have to call tomorrow or Tuesday because they are not open on Sundays so cross your fingers that something turns out.

I also played with the writing portion of the wedding invitation and I think I have found the right wording and fonts to fit our "non-fancy" wedding. Now we just have to decide on the places and times of everything to get those rolling. :) So that is all for today, but if anybody has ideas on cheap ways to do things do let me know!

I Can Hear The Wedding Bells :)

I have created this blog to keep everybody updated on our plans for our big day. If you have any suggestions for anything please feel free to inform me so I can get some creative juices flowing. :) Here is what we have been working on thus far...

-We have created a wedding website where people will be RSVPing to a variety of things. It is not fully completed yet so therefore won't be shared until we have everything squared away. :) This website also has other features for us to use such as a budget, a checklist, seating arrangements, and registries to be added for easy access. In my opinion, it is quite possibly the best invention for someone like me who has close to no idea what she is doing. :)
-We have created a guest list on this said website and entered everyone's name into the RSVP application. It won't be actually complete until probably around December because we won't add girlfriends/boyfriends until then and who knows, we might make more friends too. :)
-I have gotten the bridesmaid gifts already because I got just a tad bit excited (I wish I could post pictures of everything, but then there would be no surprises!). Included in their gift is also the jewelry that I am going to want them to wear which is just some earrings because I've always been a simple person. :)
-We have picked out a date, but won't be announcing that until we have things booked so we know people are available and things like that.
-I have been looking around for prices on real flowers versus fake flowers because we will get whatever is cheaper. I found a website yesterday where they have fake flowers which in the long run are going to be way cheaper than buying real flowers. So, I'm most likely going to get those and then just make the bouquets and things myself. :)
-We have also decided on our colors. They will be red and silver with some black of course. :)
-Today, I went to the church and got the wedding packet so we can get that stuff rolling.
-I also went  to Office Max to find out about pricing for printing stuff as well as Michael's to get stuff to make the invitations. So then of course I had to make a sample of what I want to do just on a piece of printer paper for now. It's very simple, but cute in my opinion. :)
I believe that is everything thus far. I will keep you in the loop. :)
