Well, this morning before church I read through the wedding packet from the church which discusses everything that the church requires for weddings. After reading it I realized that our reception plan probably won't work out. So, after church I searched for some reception places some more and called a bunch of places to find out pricing and availability. Turns out it is very difficult to get all weddings things within a $7,000 budget which means so far I have not found one that fits in our budget (little side note, Silver Spring Country Club for around 300 people is over $9,000!). BUT there are six places which I have to call tomorrow or Tuesday because they are not open on Sundays so cross your fingers that something turns out.
I also played with the writing portion of the wedding invitation and I think I have found the right wording and fonts to fit our "non-fancy" wedding. Now we just have to decide on the places and times of everything to get those rolling. :) So that is all for today, but if anybody has ideas on cheap ways to do things do let me know!

ReplyDeleteGood Luck! Ryan and I checked out a TON of places. Our reception hall has a food and beverage minimum of 12,000 dollars! So be careful of that. We have a guest list of 350-400 people and our dinner is 90% of our budget (21,000)! have you thought about possibly doing it at like a VFW sort of place i dont know exact prices of them but I heard they are more reasonably priced.
Thanks :) and I did email one VFW that I know about, but the lady was very rude so we didn't inquire more about it because we would not want to work with her. So we are just searching at many a places. It will certainly be a simple wedding though, but that also fits the two of us. :)
