So I have not posted on her in a loooonnnggggg time because there really isn't too much that I've done, but here are things that are new:
1. We booked a DJ who is a friend/former co-worker of my mom. He normally does "gigs" for $500, but he will do it for us for $300 so I can't really complain. He also has karaoke which I know will be a hoot at the reception. :)
2. I made a template invitation and then got it printed at Office Max to see what it would be like. Turns out it's wayyyy to big so I'm going to have to shrink it so we only have to put one stamp on each invitation, but I think it'll be fine still.
3. I made a template save the date and printed that at Office Max as well and it's the perfect size. Now I'm just testing the scratch off part to see if it will work on cardstock as planned. Also, only the first layer of scratch off stuff is on there hence why it is currently see through. I blurred the card out for now so it's a surprise if you get one in the mail. :)
4. I decided to poo poo the idea of having fake flowers for everything. Not my best idea in the world... So instead I am going to use those flowers that I bought for the aisle decorations since nobody will really be paying attention to them, they'll just be looking at me (and I guess everyone else who walks down before me). :) I decided for the aisle decorations I will just be making bows and then there will be one gerbera daisy with one red rose on each side. I bought red and silver ribbon from Stein's as well as this thing called a Bowdabra. I tried it out tonight and it actually worked, the bow looked very nice. So I will be playing around with how I want them to look and the colors of each decoration and what not, but here's just a picture of the ribbon and the Bowdabra.
5. We are still figuring out what to do for a photographer. We have some options, but are still looking at others. We're kind of behind in that area, but we'll get there eventually.
6. I found a pattern at JoAnn Fabrics for $2 that has a pattern for pretty much the exact style bridesmaid dress I fell in love with. Then, my mom found someone who was more than willing to actually make all the dresses and she does a wonderful job at it. So we just have to get the bridesmaids checked off (that will be the next number) and then their sizes and then the fabric so she can start working on them. :)
7. I just sent out stuff to those I hope to be my bridesmaids the other day since none of them are around here at this time. I won't say much more or post pictures of the idea since they have not received them yet, but that will be my next post. :)
8. I'm still figuring out the whole wedding dress thing as well. Jacob has told me that he has an aunt who can make the dress I want for me, but I have to decide what that will even be first. So I need to get on the ball and go back to David's Bridal and choose which one is "the one" and then look into that and weight out my options.
So basically, I haven't done a whole lot of anything because school, field, study, and work have gotten in the way; any free time I get I just want to sleep. So if you get the chance you can pray that I will get that free time to get things done with this wedding business (not to mention my room really needs some organization and cleaning). :P I hope you all have a wonderful day and hopefully I will have an update of something new soon! :)
